        1.  Nathaniel¹ Potter was born 1615 in England, and died after 1643 in New Port County, RI.  He married Dorthy Allen ca. 1634 in Rhode Island, daughter of William Allen. 

 

       

Children of Nathaniel Potter and Dorothy Allen are:

        2                 i.       Nathaniel² Potter, born Sep 1637 in Massachusetts.  He married Elizabeth Stokes ca. 1657 in Newport County, RI.

 

+      3                ii.       Icabod Potter I, born 1639 in Portsmouth, Newport Co., RI; died 1676 in Portsmouth, Newport Co., RI.

        3.  Icabod² Potter I (Nathaniel¹) was born 1639 in Portsmouth, Newport Co., RI, and died 1676 in Portsmouth, Newport Co., RI.  He married Martha Mary Hazard in Rhode Island, daughter of Thomas Hazard and Martha.  She was born ca. 1641, and died 1676 in Kingston, RI.

Her niece, Mary Hazzard, married John Robinson. This makes Mary & Martha 2nd cousins.

        4                 i.       John³ Potter, born 1655 in Narragansett, Rhode Island; died 1715 in South Kingston, RI.  He married Sarah Wilson 1690.

 

        5                ii.       Susanna Potter, born 1659; died 1688.  She married __________ Grously 1679.

 

        6               iii.        Sarah Potter, born 1661 in Rhode Island; died 1704.  She married James Wells.

        7               iv.       Thomas Potter, born 1663.  He married (1) Susanna Tripp.  He married (2) Lydia Wilcox.

        8                v.       Robert Potter, born 1670 in Portsmouth, Newport Co., RI; died 1745 in South Kingston, RI.  He married Elizabeth Cole.

+      9               vi.       Ichabod Potter II, born 1672; died before 1730 in South Kingston, RI.

        9.  Ichabod³ Potter II (Icabod², Nathaniel¹) was born 1672, and died Before 1730 in South Kingston, RI.  He married Margret Helme 1700 in Point Judith, Rhode Island, daughter of Rouse Helme and Mary Eldred.  She was born 1679 in Kingston, RI, and died 1727 in Point Judith, RI.

        11              ii.       Rouse Potter, born Feb 13, 1702.  He married (1) Mary Easton.  He married (2) Lydia Ball Jan 11, 1732.

 

 

        12             iii.       Thomas Potter, born ca. 1705; died Apr 20, 1746.  He married Martha Card.

        13             iv.       William Potter, born Mar 04, 1708.  He married Martha Card.

        14              v.       Margret Potter, born Oct 11, 1714.

        10.  Col. Ichabod⁴ Potter (Ichabod³, Icabod², Nathaniel¹) was born 1702 in Kingston, Rhode Island, and died Apr 1739 in South Kingston, RI.  He married Sarah Robinson Jan 16, 1723, daughter of John Robinson and Martha Hazard.  She was born Jan 26, 1707 in Rhode Island.

       

Children of Ichabod Potter and Sarah Robinson are:

        15               i.       John⁵ Potter, born Jul 19, 1724; died Jun 01, 1772 in South Kingston, RI.  He married (1) Mary Hazard Aug 20, 1752.  He married (2) Hannah Potter Dec 26, 1766.

        17             iii.       Ruth Potter, born Jan 19, 1727.

        18             iv.       Rouse Potter, born Dec 10, 1728.

        19              v.       Christopher Potter, born Nov 15, 1732.  He married Elizabeth Hazard Mar 19, 1750.

William Hess Sr. is Aunt Lizzie's 3rd great-grandfather and Uncle Herb's great-grandfather. This makes Aunt Lizzie & Uncle Herb 2nd cousins, twice removed.

Aunt Lizzie descends down from Anna Elizabeth Hess and Uncle Herb from George Hess. Anna Elizabeth and George are children of William Hess Sr.
