A. Hakes, age 78, of 7 Charles Street, Waverly, NY passed away at her
daughter's home in Athens, PA, Monday, October 20, 2008. Born
in Waverly, NY, the daughter of the late Walter and Lovetta
Kneller Thrasher.
Mary
was employed at the Robert Packer Hospital in Sayre, PA as a nurse's aide for
over 40 years until her retirement from the ICU Dept. She attended the Waverly
First Baptist Church. Mary is survived by her daughters: Jean Moore of S.
Waverly, PA, Marianne Howard of Binghamton, NY, Susan Moore of Athens, PA, and
her son Jonathan Hakes of Athens, PA, her sister, Norman Foster of Barton, NY,
several grand and great grandchildren, and nephews. Predeceased
by her husband, William Hakes, June 27, 1995, her son, Floyd Perry, daughters,
June Hammaker and Alice Easley. Do to Mary's wishes, calling hours and funeral services will be private
at the Blauvelt Funeral Home, 625 Broad Street, Waverly, NY. The celebration of
Mary's life will be by her pastor the Rev. Steven Reynolds who will be honoring
her memory. In lieu of flowers expressions of sympathy may be made to: First
Baptist Church, 23 Tioga Street, Waverly, NY 14892 or to Guthrie Hospice, RR#1,
Box 154, Towanda, PA, 18848. Burial will be in the Chemung Cemetery, Chemung,

L. Moore, age 65, 76 Pitney St., South Waverly, Pa., passed away on Saturday,
Aug. 23, 2014, at the Troy Community Hospital, Troy, Pa.
She
was born on Sept. 30, 1948 and was a graduate of Waverly High School in 1966.
She was an active member of Crossroads Family Ministries Church in South Waverly.
She enjoyed spending time with her family and church friends. After church on
Sundays, she could be found at home watching NASCAR. Jean is predeceased by her
father Floyd Perry, mother and stepfather Mary and William Hakes, sisters Alice
and June, and her brother Floyd. Jean is survived by William Moore of Sayre,
daughter and son-in-law Wendy and Steven Felt, sister and brother-in-law Susan
and Steven Moore, brother and sister-in-law John and Debbie, sister Marianne,
granddaughter Emily Mosier, and grandson Timothy Mosier and his wife Charity
and their children Nicholas, Elaina, Gavin and Waylon, and her nieces and
nephews, whom she all loved dearly. A time of gathering with family and friends
will be from 10-11 a.m. on Wednesday, Aug. 27, 2014, at Blauvelt Funeral Home,
625 Broad St., Waverly, N.Y. The celebration of Jean's life will follow the
visitation with the Rev. James Fox honoring her memory at 11 a.m. A special
tribute to Jean's life will be presented on DVD during the funeral service. In
lieu of flowers, donations can be made to one's favorite charity. Burial will
be in Chemung Cemetery, Chemung, N.Y. Those wishing may send a private sympathy
