SARAH BAHR (John Bahr) was born July 6, 1822; died July 12, 1902
Married Joseph Bachman. He was born September 15, 1809 in Bavaria, Germany; died November 15, 1892.

Mrs. Sarah Ann Bachman, nee Bahr, wife of Joseph Bachman, born in Windsor township, Berks County, Pa. July 6th, 1822; died July 12, 1902, aged 80 years and 6 days.

Funeral services were held on Monday, by Rev. W.J. Campbell, at the Evangelical church, of which she was a member for upwards of fifty years.  Interment at Bahr’s cemetery.

Joseph Bachman of Cherry, died Tuesday morning at the age of 83 years.  Mr. Bachman was born in Bravaria, Germany, and came to America and settled in Cherry Township over 50 years ago. 

He leaves a wife and two daughters, Mrs. Nathan Persun and Mrs. Jacob Suber.

The funeral will be held this Thursday morning; interment taking place in Bahr’s cemetery.

LORETTA BACHMAN (Sarah, John Bahr) born November 26, 1846; died July 21, 1922

Married Nathan Persun in 1875.  He was born in 1844; died June 13, 1926

Mrs. Loretta Persun died Friday evening, July 21, at her home on Carpenter Street, following a long illness, at the age of 75 years 8 months and 25 days.

Mrs. Persun was the eldest daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Bachman of Cherry Township.

She is survived by her husband two daughters, Misses Caroline and Anna Persun and one sister, Mrs. Caroline Suber.

Funeral services were held at the home Monday morning, Rev. A. Ward Campbell assisted by Rev. W.H. Fehr officiating.  Interment was made in the Bahr Hill cemetery.

Nathan Persun, a Veteran of the Civil War, and a well known resident of this town, died Sunday morning at his home on Carpenter Street.  He had been ill for about two years.

Mr. Persun was born in Cherry Township in 1844.  He was a son of John Persun, who was born in New Jersey in 1906.  The family were originally French and went from France to Germany during the Hugenot trouble.  Later they came to America settling in New Jersey and from there they moved to Luzerne County, John moving to Cherry township in 1836.  Nathan Persun on reaching his majority taught school, later taking up the profession of his father, that of surveying.

He was a member of Sullivan Post, No. 388, G.A.R.

In 1875 Mr. Persun was married to Loretta Bachman, who was born in Cherry township.  She was a daughter of Joseph Bachman, a native of Germany, who came to Sullivan County when a young man, working at the millers trade later settling in Cherry township.  Mrs. Persun has been dead several years.  Mr. Persun is survived by two daughters, Misses Carrie and Anna Persun and one sister Mrs. Lina Abrams of Wyalusing.  Funeral services will be held at the home at 2 o’clock today (Wednesday). Interment will be in the Bahr Hill cemetery.

Caroline Persun (Loretta, Sarah, John Bahr) born July 5, 1876; died June 27, 1954.

Miss Caroline Persun, native of Dushore and a former music teacher here died Saturday afternoon at 12:45 o’clock in the Williamsport Hospital where she had been admitted as a patient the day before.  She had been residing at 2703 Brown avenue, Dubois town, and had been ill a short time.

During her residence here Miss Persun followed her vocation, giving private music lessons.  For many years while living here she served as organist at the Evangelical United Brethren church.

She was born in Dushore July 5, 1876, the daughter of Nathan and Loretta Bachman Persun.  For the past 18 years she has resided in the Williamsport area.  There are no immediate survivors.

Funeral service were held Tuesday afternoon at 2 o’clock from the Holcombe Funeral Home here.  The Reverends Lester A. Fuhrman and Charles A. Souders were in charge of funeral services.  Burial was in Fairview cemetery.

Anna Henrietta Persun (Loretta, Sarah, John Bahr) born in 1878; died May 23, 1936

Miss Anna Henrietta Persun passed away very suddenly, at her home on Carpenter Street, Friday, May 23rd, at the age of 58 years.  Although she had not been in the best of health for several years her death came as a distinct shock to her many friends in this community.

She was the daughter of the late Mr. and Mrs. Nathan Persun, who were highly respected residents of this section for many years.

During her long affiliation with the Evangelical Church, she gave much time and active participation in the different branches of church work.

The funeral was held Tuesday afternoon from her lat e home with Rev. Heisley of Lock Haven and Rev. Carl F. Gunter officiating.  Interment as the Bahr Hill cemetery.

Miss Persun is survived by one sister, Miss Carrie Persun.

CAROLINE CATHARINE BACHMAN (Sarah, John Bahr) born February 20, 1851; died July 21, 1927

Married Jacob Suber on May 15, 1883.  He was born November 17, 1847; died March 23, 1927.

Mrs. Caroline C. Suber died Thursday, July 21st at her home in Cherry township after an illness of some time at the age of 76 years.

Mrs. Suber is a widow of the late Jacob J. Suber and a daughter of the late Mr. And Mrs. Joseph Bachman, who came to Sullivan County from Bavaria, Germany, when a young man.  He married and settled on the farm now owned by Jacob Suber.

She is survived by several nieces and nephews.

Funeral service was held Saturday at her late home with interment in the family plot at Bahr Hill cemetery
