Information on this project was compiled by Sandra Miner of Meshoppen, PA, who is the cemetery "Secretary". If you desire additional information, please contact Sandra at sminer222@epix.net. As with many other Wyoming County cemeteries, several of the families buried here are connected historically and genealogically to our Sullivan County heritiage. We are very grateful to Sandra for this contribution of her time and effort.

** Editor's Note: The original birth date give here was 1871. However, thanks to additional information from Larry Pardoe, we believe this date to have been in error. The reasons is that Harry's father, John C. Henning, married twice. His first wife Sarah died in 1874 [see next record on this transcription] and it is most likely he married his second wife Nettie P. Burgess after the first wife died. Therefore, if Harry's mother was Nettie, as this record indicates, he wasn't born until after 1874-1875, which would coincide with Federal census ages for him in Lopez, PA in 1910 and 1920.

** Editor's Note: We received the following information on the Davis-Wells family in November 2007 from Lynn Campbell Wingert:

My direct ancestor was the sister of Emma Wells from Wilkes Barre, who married Nicholas H. Davis of Carbondale, and moved to Wyoming County. Emma & Nicholas bore a daughter and son. The daughter, Flora, married Frank Herman, and they had a daughter, Camilla. Emma died at age 65, Flora died at 57. William, Emma's son, died early too. Also, is it known if the Camilla L, listed in the Garey plot is Flora & Frank's daughter? The birth year (1903) and middle initial are a match.
I am descended from Constant and Hannah (Minor) Searle, from Rhode Island/Connecticut, and then Luzerne Co, PA, in the 1770s!

The card was postmarked in North Mehoopany on July 19, 1907. The note, addressed to an unknown party by "May"
descirbes the view as being that of the "upper town". She asserts that the Susquehanna is not much bigger than the Schuykill at this location.
