Jenner township was incorporated in 1811. The town was settled in 1776 and was formed from Quemahoning and Conemaugh Townships. 

Jenner Township is located in the extreme north-western portion of the county. 
It is bounded to the north by Conemaugh Township; to the west by Westmoreland County; to the south by Lincoln Township; and to the east by Quemahoning Township.

• Captain Leonard I. Beatty was a World War II veteran from Jenners. There has been a memorial to the veterans in Jenners for many years and his name is there... A complete listing of World War II veterans can be compiled from that memorial. Leonard served in the United States Marine Corps for 30 years and attained the rank of Colonel. He was a pilot during his career in the USMC and served in the South Pacific during World War II. He was honored for his bravery. He is noted for braving the severe weather elements and safely bringing several lost pilots to safety. Leonard was the son of Grace Ickes of Jenners and lifelong resident of Somerset County.
