Gross Cemetery
From New Centerville, go west on the Copperkettle Rd. (So named for the moonshine stills in the Trent area.) The cemetery is in a field on the left by the Trent electric substation, almost on the Milford/Middlecreek Township line, on the farm owned by Jesse Miller until recently. (LMS 1998)
MARY J. GROSS, Died May 2, 1903 - Aged 70 yrs 2 days
CATHERINE GROSS, Died Apr. 25, 1889 - Aged 33 yrs 11 mo 7 days
JACOB GROSS, Died June 1, 1871 - Aged 77 yrs 8 mo 4 days In silent Just my body lies, Until my Maker lets it rise, To meet him up in doner skies
Several field stones
Ed. note - Jay Peck reports that a Gross descendent came every year
to care for the cemetery until he died. in 1999, the cemetery is orderly
again.
