My paternal GGrandfather, James Riley (approx. 1826 to 1885) is well-documented in the Census; I also have his burial record. He was buried in Pittsburgh, PA, where my grandfather and father were born. His father’s name, I believe, was Jacob Riley. His mother’s name was Christiana (various spellings in Census). They show up in the Church records of the Stoystown Lutheran and Reformed German Churches, and apparently emigrated from Baden sometime before 1826.
I can’t find any definitive record of their emigration or town of origin in Baden. There were two active German churches in the Stoystown area. I am curious if anyone has records or a history that goes beyond what’s in the Family History Library. I am very curious how this family got to Stoystown and where they were from in Baden. Any help would be appreciated!
