Trying to reconcile historical details of an individual referenced on the PA GenWeb site re Norwhich Township and the Parker Family.

We have recently taken over a 16 acre parcel in Hector Twp and in cleaning up the parcel we found a headstone on the property inscribed with the name George Parker and the date of his death is listed as July 25 1845.

But on the PA GenWeb entry (the page lists his son, N.H. Parker) indicates that George would pass away in 1868.

There is a web page for Hector Twp with an entry for William J. Loucks that references this same 16 acre parcel of land and includes describing the purchase of this land by George Parker from Seneca Chief Shongo, which correlates to the PA GenWeb entry.

There is also a History of Potter Cty website document that affirms that this location at the Genessee Forks tributary stream that feeds into Pine Creek is the same George Parker as indicated in the Hector Twp historical page.

The property is bounded on the northern side by Parker Hill Rd and George Parker has a headstone on the property here indicating he died in July 1845 so we are pretty certain that this is the same George Parker, on property purchased from the Seneca Nation chief Shongo in 1830 married to a Polly Parker as referenced in the Norwhich Twp document. But I think that document may have gotten some mixed data. If George Parker died in 1845 as the headstone indicates, he could not have been hunting far and wide with Nethaniel Parker into the 1860's.

George Parker's head stone, located in Loucks Mills, PA.
