NOTE: At the time this was written Pocono Consolidated High School was housed in what is at present "The Learning Center" located in Tannersville, PA on the South side of Rt #611, directly across from Rt #715 North. The school at the time contained grades K thru 12. Mr. R. P. Dehaven was Richard P. DeHaven, a member of the graduating class of 1940 and a World War II veteran, who returned in the late 1940s to teach History and Social Studies. I was a student of Mr. DeHaven's and he had also been my home room teacher. He was a very personable man who related stories of his experiences in Burma and India, during World War II. He went on to teach in other schools in the Lehigh Valley and is now retired living in Bath, PA.
