On the 26th of August 1878 I visited the old Postlethwaite homestead in Long Hollow, Mifflin Co., PA, on which my Great Grandfather settled about 1789. He died Oct. 6th 1802. After his death my Grandfather, Thomas Irvin Postlethwaite, resided on the farm until his decease Nov. 20th, 1856, and Uncle David Alexander Postlethwaite remained on the place until his death, Sept. 9th 1866.
After Uncle David's death the farm was purchesed by William Morgan (an uncle by marriage to Jane Rebecca Postlethwaite) who leased to Uncle William Armstrong Postlethwaite, now residing on the farm.
From the Tombstones in the old Burial place on this farm I copied the following inscriptions:
