Notes: Sarah and Susan Botteicher married brothers - Elijah and Jacob Youtzy. There may have been another Botteicher sister who married a Botteicher [Youtzy?] brother, but I cannot prove it.
The following people are purported to be buried there, as told to me by Sarah Catherine (YOUTZY) Espigh, who for a long time lived across the road from the cemetery, and whose ancestors are buried there.
Sarah Catherine (Kate) Youtzy Espigh is the granddaughter Susan (Botteicher) Youtzy, sister of my great grandfather Joseph W. Botteicher, who is buried in Mattawana Cemetery.
Samuel Botteicher, buried in Moist Cemetery, a Civil War Veteran, although his stone is incorrect. Botteicher is misspelled as Bottechier. Samuel is the brother of Susan and Joseph.
Willie Heister is buried there. 1876-1881. Son of Catharine (YOUTZY) & Enoch Heister. Enoch died, and later, Catharine married Christian Moist. They are buried in Mattawana Cemetery. Catharine's mother was Sarah (BOTTEICHER) Youtzy, another sister of Samuel, Joseph, and Susan.
Also buried in Moist are:
Lizzie Youtzy
Harriet Youtzy
Ida (Youtzy) Casner
Sarah (BOTTEICHER) & Jacob Youtzy
