Hessian immigrant Johannes ZULAUF purchased 206 acres in Milford Twp., Mifflin Co. in 1802, and moved there with his eleven-member family. Before that he had lived in Berks and York Counties where his surname is found as ZULAUGH, SULOUF, SULAUF, etc. Within a decade after his move to Mifflin Co., the spelling of his surname settled down to SULOUFF and that spelling appears on his gravestone. Two of his sons continued using SULOUFF and two sons changed their surname to SULOFF. WYBLE / WIBLE: Wyble Family History - Ancestors and descendants of John May Wyble, son of Conrad and Julianna May Wyble, first located paying taxes in 1825 in Mifflin County, Pa., who was a descendant of the Wyble family that settled in Ringwood, NJ in 1786, when they immigrated from Germany.
Family of Robert Elliott HARPER and Mary Ann RITTENHOUSE of Burnham. Robert worked as night manager at Standard Steel, and later established a general store on the first floor of their home.
