pastor, December 11th of the same year. When he began his pastorate,
after a vacancy of several months, the church could report but about 200
members. Through his faithful service the church continued to grow
and make substantial progress along every line of work. He continued
as pastor until April 1st, 1896, when he was released to accept a call
from the Fourth church of Philadelphia, where he now labors. He was
the second pastor which this congregation furnished that church. The
pastorate of Dr. Scouller was marked by a
quiet, steady growth. Though there were many removals yet it more
than held its own and reported at the close 290 members. Dr.
Scouller left the church united and harmonious. His ministry
was blessed and he still fondly remembered by the congregation and the
entire community. Pastorate

present pastor is the seventh in the history of the church. This
call was made in September, 1896, and the pastor preached his first
sermon on the third Sabbath of November of the same year. He was
installed as pastor in December, 1896. He received a most cordial
