St. Michael's Church

VOCATIONS

If it be true, as it is, that the depth of the Christ-Life in a parish may be measured to a great extent by the number of the young men and women whom it inspires to go all the way in consecrating their lives to God in religion, then St. Michael’s parish may rightfully feel proud today. Actually there have been seven priests, two brothers and forty-eight nuns who have received all or part of their training under the priests and Sisters of St. Michael’s. Surely the vision and courage of Father John and Father James learns in building and maintaining our parish Grade and High-School even in the face of great obstacles is well justified by this imposing number of vocations.

In addition to the priests, brothers and Sisters mentioned above, there are at present in the seminary and studying for the priesthood five young men of our parish: John Marshall (Frater Regis Francis, O.F.M.) with the Franciscan Fathers in Butler, N. J., Donald and Nelson Murrin with the Divine Word Fathers at Conesus, N. Y., Bernard Fay Webber at Christ the King Seminary, Bonaventure, N. Y., and Regis Ruffing at St. Mark’s Minor Seminary in Erie, Pa. The last two young men are studying for the Diocese of Erie.

Below we list the names of those of whom we feel justly proud—the sons and daughters of St. Michael’s who have chosen the Lord as the portion of their inheritance.
