Presbyterian Church

The Presbyterians built a church in New Hamburgh in 1853, Casper Kamerer being the contractor. It was opened for services the year following as a free church. It was not fully completed until 1868. The property was finally sold to the Reformed Church. The organization is now [1888] known as the New Hamburg Reformed Church, and is in a prosperous condition.

In the fall of 1853, Casper Kamerer took a contract to build the first Presbyterian Church in New Hamburg, but it was not finished so as to be used, until the fall of 1854, and there was not permanent pulpit and seats until 1868.  It was considered a free church, but the Presbyterians controlled it , and it was finally sold to the German Reformed Society who still [1877] occupy it.
