Pfc. EUGENE BARRY, 23, MEETS DEATH IN KOREA
The Greenville community's fourth casualty of the war in Korea was reported over the weekend.
Private
First Class Eugene Kirwood Barry, 23, son of Mr. and Mrs. Regis J.
Barry, North High Street Extension, met h is death Aug. 5 in Korea.
No
details of Barry's death were contained in the terse Defense Department
telegram received yesterday by his wife, Mrs. Ann Abrams Barry, who
resides at North Merrick, Long Island.
Young Barry served with
the 32nd Infantry Division and had been stationed in Korea since June.
He entered the Army on Nov. 29, 1951 at Hempstead, L. I.
Pfc.
Barry was a son of Regis J. and Florence Bortz Barry and was born July
6, 1929, in Greenville. He graduated from St. Michael's High
School with the Class of 1948 and was a member of St. Michael's Roman
Catholic Church. While attending high school he was employed at the
Keller department store.
Following graduation he went to
Hempstead, L. I., to work. His marriage to Ann Abrams, North Merrick,
L.I., took place there Nov. 11, 1950.
Surviving are his wife,
his parents and a brother, George Patrick Barry, North High Street
