William A. Jones, 89, of Sharon-Weldon Rd., Masury, died in Sharon General Hospital at 7 p.m. yesterday [22 Aug 1956].
Mr.
Jones, who spent all of his life in this area, was the sixth oldest
member of the Brotherhood of Railroad Trainsmen, an organization with a
membership of 225,000 in the United States and Canada. He was the
last living charter member of local Lodge 521.
Born in Hickory
Township on Nov. 5, 1866, he was the son of James and Mary Titus
Jones. He was a retired Erie Railroad conductor.
Besides
his wife, the former Bertha Rodgers, he leaves four sons, William
Walter Jones, Transfer, James B. Jones, Sharpsville, Gerald W. Jones,
Masury; and Paul Jones, Detroit; two daughters, Mrs. Florence James,
Masury and Mrs. Martha Lett, Ecorse, Mich.; a sister, Mrs. Jesse Shull,
Masury; 10 grandchildren and six great-grandchildren.
