Retired
businessman C. Duane Rollinson, 4288 Lamor Road, Hermitage, died
at 9 p.m. Thursday (4-1-93) in John XXIII Home, Hermitage, following an
extended illness. He had been a patient in the home since August. He
was 61.
Mr. Rollinson was born Aug. 28, 1931, in Hermitage to
Clifford J. and Grace Persch Rollinson. He was a 1948 graduate of
Hickory High School, Hermitage, and attended Westminster College, New
Wilmington. He and his brother were owner-operators of Rollinson
Brothers Builders, Hermitage. He had worked with the company more than
25 years before retiring in 1981.
Mr. Rollinson was a member of
New Virginia United Methodist Church, and attended Hickory United
Methodist Church, both of Hermitage.
A free and Accepted Mason,
he belonged and was an honorary past Master of Hermitage Masonic Lodge
810; Scottish Rite's New Castle Consistory; Zem Zem Shrine, Erie; and
had been a member of Grand Lodge Free and Accepted Masons of
Pennsylvania for 25 years.
Mr. Rollinson was formerly active in
the Hermitage Little League program where he served as coach, umpire
and on various committees. He had also coached the former Hermitage
team, sponsored by Sharpsville American Legion Post.
He was a former member of Carpenters and Electrical Union Local 268, Sharon.
An
outdoorsman, he was an avid hunter and fisherman. He was a member of
Western Reserve Fish and Game Protective Association, Mercer, and was
one of the top skeet shooters. He was also a former member of the
National Rifle Association. He had bowled with Hickory Merchants
Bowling League at Hickory Bowl and golfed with Sharon Steel Utilities
League. An army veteran, he served at Ford Ord in California, where he
had been a member of the first place rifle, pistol and skeet teams.
Surviving
are: his wife, the former Ann L. Shillito, whom he married July 28,
1956; a daughter, Beth Ann Rollinson, Redondo Beach, Calif.; a son,
Brad D., Cincinnati, Ohio; and a brother, Thomas, Hermitage. A sister, Twila Cusick, preceded him in death.
