Harvard Street, Grove City, died at 4:31 p.m. Tuesday May 2, 2000
in United Community Hospital, Pine Township, following a five month
illness. She was 104.
Mary Breese was born Jan.12, to C. S. and Anna Millsop Briggs.
She retired in 1972 after more than 15 years as a receptionist for Grove City College.
A
homemaker, Mrs. Breese was the oldest member of Covenant Orthodox
Presbyterian Church, Grove City, where she belonged to the church
Missionary Society. Her husband , John H. "Happy" Breese, whom she married Feb. 4, 1915, died November 7, 1972.
Surviving
are: Three daughters, Mrs. Robert H. [Anna Jane] Daugherty and Mrs.
George [Emma L.] Scharsu, both of Youngstown, Ohio; and Mrs.
Albert L. [Elizabeth "Scottie"] Ferguson, Lititz, Pa.; a son, Paul D.,
Grove City, Pennsylvania; 15 grandchildren; and several
great-grandchildren; and several great-great-grandchildren.
Besides
her husband, she was preceded in death by a daughter Isabelle [Isabel]
Alma Coast; a son, William M.; six brothers, William, John, George,
James, Paul, and Clarence Briggs; and two sisters, Helen Raybould; and
a twin, Belle Stubb.
