Jane Dumars, one of the
pioneers in this region, died in West Salem tp. on the 30th ult. The
deceased was born in Westmoreland county, Aug. 8, 1798. She was a
daughter of Alexander Dumars, one of the early settlers of Mercer
county, having located about two miles east of Greenville, over 70
years ago, where he resided until 1854, when he died at the advanced
age of 84. The deceased resided upon a part of the same farm nearly all
her life. She has been a member of the M. E. church for forty years..
