Mrs. Eliza, wife of T.
L. McMahan, of this place, died on the 19th ult., after a lingering
illness. Mrs. M. was a daughter of the late Joseph Morford, of
West Salem township, and was in her 53rd year at the time of her death.
At the age of fourteen she became a member of the Baptist Church of
Maysville, and continued ever after a consistent member of that
denomination. On the 14th of September, 1851, she was married to T. L.
McMahan, who, with four daughters and two sons yet living, mourn her
loss. Three sons preceded her to the spirit land. She as highly
esteemed by her acquaintances. Her funeral was largely attended. Rev.
Tinker, of the Baptist Church, of this place, conducted the services..
