Alexander Lamont

He died at his home at Lamont's Corners due to infirmities of age. He immigrated to Canada from Scotland about 1830 where he lived in the Bruce Peninsula area.  He came to the United States in 1861 and settled in Hickory Township where he resided until his death.  He worked as a contractor and a farmer.  He had two sons from his second marriage, Angus M. Lamont and and Alexander W. Lamont.  He had five daughters, Mrs. James A. Gibson, Mrs. Andrew J. Stambaugh, Mrs. J.D. Mattocks, Miss Eva Lamont, and Mrs. Jessie Washburn.  He was a member of the Universalist Church of Sharpsville.
