Thomas Jones of Clarksville the veteran hotel keeper is quite ill following a paralytic stroke. He is a brother of
William Jones of West Main Street.

Mr. Thomas Jones,
one of the oldest residents of the Clarksville area and in fact the
oldest and most widely known citizens of this county, died at the home
of his daughter Mrs. J.C. Elviage, of Erie on
September 28, aged about 75 years. Death was caused by affliction of
the brain, from which he had suffered for some years. He is survived by
his wife, two sons and two daughters. The remains were brought back to
his late home in Clarksville. Interment in Greenfield.

Thomas Jones one of the oldest residents of Clarksville died at the home of his daughter
Mrs. J. C. Elviage
of Erie, Tuesday afternoon aged about 75 years. Death was caused by an
infection of the brain from which he had suffered for some years. He is
survived by his wife and two daughters, Mrs. Elviage and Miss Fannie Jones of Allegheny and two sons,
Frank Jones residing in Clarksville and Henry Jones
of this place. Funeral services were held at the family residence in
Clarksville this afternoon. Interment following in the Lackawannock
Cemetary near Greenfield.
