MANY AT FUNERAL
Largely attended and impressive services were held this afternoon for
Miles Joy Patton, Civil War veteran, who died last week [30 Apr 1920]. The
services were held at the family home, 646 Emerson Avenue, the Rev.
Phil Bowen officiating. The pallbearers were picked from
Preston Carrel Post, American Legion. There were a number of members
of Sharon Post No. 254 G.A.R. of which Mr. Patton was a member and
of the ladies of the G.A.R in attendance. Many floral offerings were
received, attesting the high esteem in which he was held. The
interment was made in Oakwood Cemetery.
