  Joseph C. Uber 

Joseph C. Uber, former employee of the P. and L. E. Railroad died at 5:40 p.m. yesterday [22 Aug 1948], in his home on Campbell St., Masury, after an illness of several years duration.  He was 73.

Mr. Uber was born Dec. 21, 1874 in Blacktown, a son of Benjamin and Minerva Carpenter Uber.  He had lived in Masury since 1917.  Prior to that he lived in the Shenango Valley and for a number of years was watchman at the P. and L. E. crossing in this city.

He was a member of the Central Church of Christ and the Sharon lodge of the Knights of Pythias.  His wife Lalie Peters Uber, died a number of years ago.

Survivors are two daughters, Miss Elizabeth Uber, at home, and Mildred, wife of Abe Zelman, Cleveland; a son, Albert, Bedford, O., two brothers, A.T. Uber, Sharon, and M.E. Uber, Hubbard; two sisters, Alice, wife of Thomas Johns, Farrell, and Pearl, wife of George Keffer, Trenton, N.J.; four grandchildren and one great-grandchild.
