  John S. Hilands/Hoyland 

John Hoyland, the Hickory Street Bridge Tender, died at his residence on Sunday Evening. Mr. Hoyland was a man advanced in age and had been a soldier in the War of 1812.

Mr. Jno S HILANDS, father of R.V. Hilands of this place died in Ross County, Ohio on the 9th ult. (sic) at the age of 82. He was formerly a resident of this county.

Greenville Advance, Mercer County, PA. Thursday 20 June 1872. 

 

[NOTE: John S. Hilands & John Hoyland were the same person.]
