Daniel James "D.J." Hurley 

Daniel Hurley 49, former resident of Greenville and Mercer and well known in these communities, died Thursday, February 17, (2-17-1931) in Cleveland. Death was due to pneumonia.


Mr. Hurley was born in Coolspring Township near Mercer, July 16,1881 the son of Michael and Mary Hurley. He resided in Greenville for a number of years, and was employed in the Bessemer railroad shops. Mr. Hurley left here about 20 years ago for Cleveland, working for a time in the Stearns automobile factory there and then engaging in an automobile sales and service garage business up to the time of his death.
Surviving are his wife, three daughters, Frances, Florence and Louise, and three sons John, Edward and Eugene (Daniel) all at home, his parents, three sisters; Mrs. Thomas McCann of Sharon; Mrs. Samuel Bell of Cleveland, and Mrs. Clarence F. Burns of Greenville; and two brothers, Clifford F. Hurley of Greenville and M. Bryan Hurley of Cleveland. 


The body was brought to the C. F. Hurley home here today. Funeral services will be held Monday at 11 a.m. at All Saints R.C. church, near Mercer, with which he was associated while in this vicinity. Rev. Fr. Dennis O'Mahoney will be in charge. Internment will be made in All Saints cemetery.
