Morns Death of
Charles
Stevenson, Thursday
A wave of sorrow
swept over the community yesterday when it learned that “Chuck”
Stevenson, 17, was dead. He
had been ill seven months.
“Chuck”
was on of the most popular seniors in Grove City high school. For this
year he had been elected present of the student council, an honor won only
by the best-liked and most-respected students.
He was also treasurer of the senior class, a member of the
Methodist church and Boy Scout Troop 45.
When news reached the high school yesterday that he had died at 3
a.m., many students wept openly.
Charles
Elliott Stevenson was born in Grove City, August 29, 1922, a son of
James F. and Bertha L. Stevenson, and had
spent his short life-time here. He was universally liked.
Surviving are his
parents and three brothers, James F., Jr., David
Paul and Robert E. at home.
Friends may call at
the home until 11 a.m. Saturday, when the body will be removed to the
Cunningham Funeral Home for services at 2:00 p.m.
Dr. B. R. McKnight will be in charge,
and burial will be made in Woodland Cemetery.
Pallbearers will be his close friends, George
Stubbs, Kenneth and Wayne Book, Thomas Braine, Robert Butler, Jack
Jamison, Fred Homas and Robert McKnight.
