Benjamin L. - born November 12, 1827 in Ohio -
died June 7, 1911 Winfield, Kansas - his early manhood spent in Western
Pennsylvania - in 1853 with family to Monroe, Wisconsin - enlisted and
served 1 year in the war - 1884 to Cowley County, Kansas making Burden
his home until 2 years ago when he went to Winfield. Twice married,
both wives deceased - left brother,
John W. Hoyland of New Salem, Kansas - children: Miss Emma Hoyland & Charles S.
Hoyland of Winfield, Kansas-
J. Alva Hoyland- Mrs. Ella Bowell & Mrs. Leila Woodle
all of Monroe, Wisconsin - 11 grandchildren & 5 great
grandchildren.
