William Morgan,
one of Farrell's oldest residents, died suddenly at 10:30 p.m.
yesterday at his home, 1001 Hamilton Ave. He was 91. Although he had
been in ill health for some time, his death was unexpected.
Dr. James F. Elder, Mercer County coroner, said death was due to a cerebral
hemorrhage.
Mr. Morgan had lived had lived in Farrell for the past 50 years, moving
there from Pittsburgh where he had been a resident for six years. He
was born in Ponty Pool, Wales, on March 11, 1860, the son of William and
Elizabeth Davis Morgan.
Mr. Morgan retired in 1927 from the American Sheet and Tinplate Co. where he
was employed as a roller. His wife, Martha Ann
Morgan, died on July 18, 1938.
He is survived by the following: Three daughters, Gertrude, wife of
Thomas Morgan, Sharon; Mrs. Lillian
Crane and Mrs. Gladys Anderson, both at home; eight sons,
Thomas G., Washington, D.C.; William
G. and Sidney E., both of Sharon; Hugh
G., R.D. 2,
Sharon; Earl, Lynwood, Calif.; John P. and Harry
C., both of Farrell; and Alfred, Compton, Calif.; 16 grandchildren and 17 great-grandchildren.

in Morefield Cemetery. Family will be at funeral home from 7-9 p.m. and 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Wednesday.
