Kathleen Carol Grega

Kathleen (Kay) Grega, a resident of Willows, since 1979, died April 2, 2011.

Kay was born March 16, 1943, in Olean, NY, to Mabel E. and John A. Grega; the fifth of six children. She is survived by two sisters, Dorothy M. Scholl of Allegany, NY, and Marion J. Swanson of Williamsville, NY; 12 nieces and nephews; a dear friend, Cami Mirande of Glenn, and long time companion, Sir Baxter, Black Lab.

Kay grew up in Crosby, Penn. and graduated from Smethport High School, Smethport, Penn., in 1961, and from the University of Rochester, NY, in 1966. She spent many years working as an RN, including the USAF Medical Corp. She was a Vietnam veteran. Her passions included reading, children, gardening and music.

Interment will be at the St. Elizabeth Cemetery in Smethport, Penn. Memorial donations made to local libraries or any association promoting reading among children would be appreciated. You may share your thoughts and memories of Kay online at nbcfh.com.
