I Jacob Hanes of Wolf Run Farm in Muncy Township in Lycoming County in Pennsylvania being of sound mind & calling to mind the certainty of death & being desirous as far as I can to do so to arrange & settle my worldly affairs do make this my last will and testament in manner following to wit

First I hereby revoke and make void & null, all other wills by me heretofore made and all codicils thereto

II II (2nd) I request & direct my Executors herein after named and appointed to pay all my just debts as soon as the same can be reasonably done. to pay all my funeral expenses & all the charges of executing this my will & of administering my Estate as here in after directed according to law

II II II (3rd) To my three daughters Mary E. Haines, Sarah E. Haines, & Rebecca E. Haines, I give my mansion House & all the buildings and out buildings thereto appurtenant with the appurtenances situate in Muncy Township aforesaid with the following described piece & parcel of land in which the same are being and situate aforesaid. Beginning at the middle of the public road leading to the Borough of Muncy, where a line extending in the course of a dividing fence between land of Charles Ellis and the premises in question would cross the said road to a point in said road in a line of a south garden fence Then westerly along the said South garden fence on the South side of the garden aforesaid to a point where the same garden fence intersects a fence nearly at a right angle there to on the East side of the house yard aforesaid. There in the direction of the last mentioned fence now being on said premises on the East side thereof – nearly or in a Southwardly course and crossing the Tail race of a mill & also crossing Wolf Run and continuing by an extension of said fence to the Southwest course of a Small lot or field appurtenant to the millers house. Thence by the said lot or field, and the line of the present fence thereof to the middle of the public road to Muncy as aforesaid. Thence by the line and middle of said road to a point where the fence extending on the west side of said road leaves & departs from the same. Thence by said fence extending on the west side of said road leaves & departs from the same. Thence by said fence extending on a Southwardly directive of course to the division line between land of Jacob Ortt and the premises therein described. Thence along said division line, as far as my land extends, and bounded in the west by lands of Charles Ellis aforesaid and crossing & including a public road to the village of Pennsville in Muncy Township aforesaid to the North west corner of an orchard field, on the said premises, and also a corner of land of said Ellis. Thence along the line of the division fence between land of said Charles Ellis to the middle of the said road in the first place mentioned as the place of beginning. Supposed to contain in the whole about fifty acres, be the same more or less, with all the appurtenances thereto be longing to them the said Mary E. Haines, Sarah E. Haines, & Rebecca E. Haines, & each of their heirs and assigns forever as tenants in common & not as joint tenants. I also give to my said three daughters any policy of insurance to me on the House and and other buildings herein before named and the personal property insured by said policy or policies

IV (4th) I give to my said three daughters Mary E. Haines Sarah E Haines and Rebecca E Haines all my household goods & furniture used by me in said mansion house, excepting my library & collection of printed books, which are to be equally divided among all my children: The stock of horses, horned cattle, hogs and other small stock of domestic animals on said premises, with all carriages and coaches, waggons, sleds, plows, harrows, and all other farming tools and instruments of husbandry, now and which shall be on my farm belonging to me at my decease to them my said three daughters as named as Tenants of the same in common and not to them jointly

V (5th) To my son Jesse Haines I give one thousand dollars to be paid if it can so be out of my personal property or otherwise at the discretion of my Executors at two years after my decease, free from interest until payable. This legacy when paid and accepted by my Son Jesse Haines is to be in full for all his services rendered to me up to the time of my decease.

VI (6th) As to the rest residue and remainder of all my property and estates real personal and mixed & wheresoever situate, I hereby give, bequeath and devise the same in equal shares and parts unto my children as hereinafter named, to their heirs and assigns respectively as tenants in common whether sold or unsold viz To my Son Jesse Haines, to my daughters Mary E. Haines, Sarah E. Haines, Rebecca E. Haines, Rachel Eckroyd the wife of James Eckroyd and to my grand daughter Hannah R. Haines , the daughter and only child of my Son William E. Haines (MD) deceased the one half-part of the share of my said grand daughter Hannah R. Hanes to be hers absolutely, the legal interest of six per cent per annum of the other half part of the part & share of the said Hannah grand daughter as aforesaid to be paid by her to her mother, my daughter in law Mary R. Haines during all the life of her said mother. The said Hannah my grand daughter, being by me so instituted Trustee during the life of her mother in payment of the said interest as aforesaid

These devisees & legacies as above written to be subject nevertheless to the following provisions with interest to carry out and perfect the several incentives of this my will to wit

VII (7) I hereby authorize and empower my Executors, the survivors & survivor of them to sell, and by Deed duly Executed and acknowledged to convey for such Estate as I have now & may have at the time of my decease, in any of my real estate wheresoever situate, that they or the survivors or survivor of them may find it necessary & proper so to do, dividing the proceeds of such sale to and among the devisees and legatees above named, their heirs and assigns, Executors & administrators as aforesaid equally share and share alike

I further request that my said Executors as aforesaid will cause the house and barn and mill on the remainder of my mansion house part of the Farm to be kept properly insured against loss by fire. The mansion house and buildings & appurtenances herein before devised to my three daughters Mary E. Haines, Sarah E. Haines, & Rebecca E Haines is hereby excluded from the above power to my said Executors to sell and convey as aforesaid.

VIII (8th) I hereby appoint my brother in law Charles Ellis of Philadelphia my son Jesse Haines of Fairfield Township and my daughter Mary E Haines of Wolf Run Farm in Lycoming County to the Executors of this my will

In testimony of all which I have hereunto written my name and affixed my seal the First day of the ninth month in the year of our Lord one Thousand Eight hundred and Sixty three

Signed, sealed, pronounced and declared by the said Jacob Haines, as and for his last Will and Testament, in our presence who at his request in his presence (and in the presence of each other have signed our names as witnesses thereof ----
