| * Editor's Note: Per Marlyn Kepner: There are two different listings--one here and one at Lungerville--for Howard Flick. Indeed, there are different birth dates indicated at each location. However, I can assure you that they are for the same man. I knew many of this family, including Howard. Howard had a sister that did not get along with some of her family. She planned on burying Howard at Lungerville with Emery and Luther. Apparently, someone else stepped in and they buried Howard with his parents at Franklin Bethel. This sister wanted to make sure she was not buried with any of the rest of her family, so she has a lot at Lairdsville. There is no one else from her family of origin, or her husband's family, buried there. There was only one Howard Flick, it is just that they couldn't recall his correct birth date. ** Editor's Note: Per Joyce Ingerson: Charles Babb was married three times--first to Susan (Montague) daughter of Edward and Adeline (McFalls) Montague; second to Maria Catherine (Snyder), daughter of David and Sarah (Allen) Snyder; third to Sarah R. Grant who was Canadian by birth. The marriage of Charles and Susan produced these children: 1. William Lewis Babb 2. Alice M. Babb 3. Catherine A Babb, first spouse Sherdin Sherwood Carpenter ; second spouse marriage 26 Aug 1902, William H Swisher; third spouse marriage 12 Jun 1906, Charles Oscar Armes 4. Thomas Andrew Babb 5. James Valentine Babb, spouse of Eva Eichenlaub 6. Carrie E Babb, spouse of Charles Morrison 7. Clyde M Babb (Babcock ) served in WWI; stayed in NYC until his death in 9 Feb 1939. Apparently, the original paternal surname in this family was "Babcock", which some of them continued to use after others switched to using "Babb". The change to "Babb" came about, according to family sources, because Charles's father William and several of his sons, who enlisted in the Union army during the Civil War, were called "Babb" in the army |
