LEADING SOCIAL EVENT. ------ THE DONNELLAN-RYAN WEDDING LAST NIGHT.
It Takes Place at the Home of the Bride on East Third street -- A brilliant Reception followed the cermemony --

The most stylish event of the present social season was the Donnellan Ryan wedding and reception which occured last evening in the spacious homes of the bride's parents, Mr. and Mrs. John R. T. Ryan, and grandmother, Mrs. Margaret Tinsman, on East Third Street. These residences are made easy of access to each other by means of a bridge hallway and they were occupied last evening by the elite of this city. Both houses were handsomely decorated by Chaapel and the Evanden Brothers, the florists. The parlor of the Ryan residence was trimmed with yellow and white roses and amilax; the sitting room in pink roses, white carnations and amilax and the library in red roses and white carnations, the effect being beautiful and artistically . The Tinsman residence was trimmed with yellow and white .

CEREMONY AT THE HOUSE. The ceremony took place in the parlor of the Ryan residence at 7: 30 o'clock, in the midst of only the relatives and immediate friends of the bride and groom and was performed by Rev. Dr. John T. Crowley, of the Church of Epiphany, Philadelphia. The groom, Dr. Patrick Sarsfield Donnellan, was supported by Garrett Tinsman Ryan, brother of the bride, as best man, and the bride, Miss Florence Tinsman Ryan, was attended by her sister, Miss Carman Ryan, as maid of honor. The bridesmaids were Misses Nellie Babb, Rachel P. Allen, Josephine Coleman and Margaretta Tinsman, cousin of the bride, all of this city. The ushers were John G. Coryell, of this city; E. George Russ of St. Mary's, and Dr. Jospeh Spelliay (sp?) and Charles Eugene Arrison, of Philadelphia.

The wedding party assembled in the south end of the room facing a curtain of amilax and roses and were surrounded by palms and tropical plants. The bride was handsomely gowned in white satin mull , white chiffon bodies, Irish lace, with a girdle of pearls and carried a boquet of roses and lillies of the valley, while the maid of honor wore yellow satin and carried yellow and white chrysanthemums.

A BRILLIANT RECEPTION. The reception took place at 9 o'clock, the Stopper and Fisk full orchestra being present. Both houses were thrown open to the guests, refreshments being served in the Tinsman residence by the well known caterer, Mr. Auguste Leedlein (sp?). Among the guests present from a distance were: Mrs. R. J. O. Walker, Mr. and Mrs. T. Henry Martin, Mrs. James Geddes and Joshua Hunt of Philadelphia; Mrs. Lawrence W. Miller, of New York; Miss Daisy Lloyd, of Altoona; Miss Marie McCormick, of Lock Haven; and Miss Ann McCleary, of Milton.

The gifts to the bride were many and made a display seldom excelled in this vicinity. Two rooms at each end of the bridgeway, in the Ryan and Tinsman residences, were occupied by these valuable tokens of remembrance. Prominent among them were a check for $5,000, a deed for the property 1028 Spruce street, Philadelphia; valuable porcelain, cut glass, bric-a-brac, etchings, water colors, engravings, artistic needle work, diamond broach and silverware from relatives and admiring friends in this country, while from friends in England and Ireland came belleek (sp?), lace, and silverware. In the residence in Philadelphia are a number of gifts, which for various reasons were sent there, prominent among them being a handsome upright piano.

THE RYAN'S WEDDING ANNIVERSARY. What made this event one of peculiar interest to Mr. and Mrs. John R. T. Ryan, was the fact that they were upon that day celebrating the twenty-eight anniversary of their marriage.

They had been united in wedlock twenty-eight years ago in the Tinsman residence, and it seemed eminently fitting that their eldest daughter should be married from almost the same house.

The groom, Dr. Donnellan, is a practicing physician of Philadelphia, who is making rapid strides in his chosen profession. He is medical director of St. Mary's Hospital and lecturer on clinical medicine of the college in the above city. The bride is well known in Williamsport society in which she is one of the recognized leaders.

Mr. and Mrs. Donnellan left on a late train last night on a bridal tour the itinerary of which is a profound secret. They will be at home to friends in Philadelphia at 1028 Spruce street, on Tuesdays in January.

A FAREWELL DINNER. Yesterday afternoon Dr. Donnellan gave a farewell dinner in a private room at The Updegraff to his bachelor friends. The party was made up of his best man and the ushers, Messrs. Garrett T. Ryan, Charles E. Arrison, Joseph M. Spelliay (sp?), E. George Russ and John G. Coryell.
