Many West Pittston residents are sad to learn of the death of Mrs. Edward Gower, of Plainsville, which occurred yesterday at the age of 61.

Mrs. Gower had been ill for the past year of a complication of diabetes. She was born in Plainsville and had lived there all her life. She was a member of the Plains Methodist Episcopal Church. Mrs. Gower was the mother of Leroy Frederick Gower, late of Susquehanna avenue, West Pittston, who passed away on November 30 of this year. Among the surviving children is Otto Gower, of West Pittston. Mrs. Gower is also survived by two sisters, Mrs. Clarence Stanton, of Carbondale, and Mrs. Edward F. Huffsmith, of Susquehanna avenue, this place. The funeral services will be held at the home in Plains Saturday afternoon at 2 o'clock, with interment in Hollenback Cemetery, Wilkes Barre.
