DISCOVERY BALL – PITTSTON KNIGHT’S OF COLUMBUS
One of The Brilliant Social Events Held in that City in Several Years
ELABORATE DECORATIONS AND HUNDREDS OF DANCERS
The State Armory at Pittston was the scene last evening of one of the most brilliant social events held there in many years, the affair being the Discovery Ball of the Knights of Columbus. There was an unusually large attendance and amongst the number were many representative knights from all parts of Lackawanna and Wyoming Valleys. The decorations were lavish and beautiful, American Flags and hunting being amongst the the predominating features. The name "Knights of Columbus": in large letters was brilliantly illuminated with incandescant lamps, one of the attractive parts of the decorations. An extensive dance program was rendered by the Elite orchestra. The Grand March took place at 10 o'clock, and the fourth degree knights, wearing their full regalia, gave a pleasing aspect to the procession. The march was led by M. P. KENNEDY, master of fourth degree; W. A. CONLAN, district deputy; P.J. BLEWITT, faithful navigator of Pittston's assembly; James A. HINES, faithful pilot; Joseph A. SMITH, faithful controller; M.V. QUINN, financial secretary; Dr. M.C. O'BRIEN, faithful friar; James J. GIBBONS, inside sentinel; Dr. M.A. REDDINGTON, and others. Those present:
