ON THE TRAIL OF OUR ANCESTORS
Notes:
The grantors are Jacob and Christiana (HENNINGER) DOLL.
Christiana was the step-daughter of George SCHUEBEL. All of these
families came from Neidenfels, Oberamt Crailsheim, Wuerttemberg,
Germany. Michael SCHIEBEL was also a step-son of George
SCHUEBEL. Another daughter was Rosa SCHUEBEL married to John
LUTZ of Lebanon. George died in 1883.
This Indenture made the seventeenth day of November in the year of
our Lord one thousand and eight hundred and eighty five Between
Jacob DOLL and Christina, his wife, of the Borough of Lebanon
in the County of Lebanon and State of Pennsylvania of the first part
and Adolphus REINOEHL and Charles H. MEILY trading as
REINOEHL and MEILY of the same place of the second part.
Witnesseth that the said party of the first part for and in consideration
of the sum of six hundred and seventy dollars ($670) lawful money of
the United States of America unto them well and truly paid by the
said party of the second part at or before the sealing and delivery of
these presents the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged have
granted, bargained, sold, aliened, enfeoffed, released, conveyed and
confirmed and by these presents do grant, bargain, sell, alien, enfeoff,
release, convey and confirm unto the said party of the second part
their heirs and assigns All these two certain messuages, tenements
and lots or pieces of ground situate in the Borough of Lebanon
aforesaid, bounded and described as follows to wit: (line missing)
Alley (probably Union Alley) , a corner of land late of John
SCHMIED thence along the south side of said alley N 85 and ¼
degrees, 84 and ¼ feet to a part thence by said DOLL’s, other lot S.
11 and ½ degrees E 85 feet to a post thence by land of Daniel
HOCHT South 65 and 1/2 degrees W. 20 and ½ feet to a post
thence by John SCHMIEDS (formerly) land N 1 and ¼ degrees W.
90 and ¾ feet to place of beginning containing 3 and 5/8 perches of
land Being part of the same premises which Simon GUILFORD
Trustee appointed by the Court of Common Pleas of Lebanon
County did sell at private sale by Authority of said Court by his deed
dated April 30, 1855 recorded in Deed Book N, page 655 unto
William Moore GUILFORD, (M.D. ?) his heirs and assigns and the
said Wm. M. GUILFORD and wife, Mary, by deed dated April 12,
1871 did grant and confirm the same unto John SCHMIED his heirs
and assigns and the said John SCHMIED and Mary, his wife, by
deed dated August 21, A.D. 1871 did grant and confirm the
premises herein before described unto Jacob DOLL, party he to his
heirs and assigns forever. No. 2. Beginning at a post in the south
side of Union Alley a corner of said DOLL’s other lot thence along
the south side of said Alley N. 85 and ¼ degrees E. 27 and ¼ feet
to a post a corner of lot of Michael SCHIEBEL, thence by said
Michael SCHIEBEL’s lot S. 4 and ¾ degrees east 77 feet to a
post thence by land of Daniel HOCHT’s estate S. 65 and ½ degrees
W. 19 and ½ feet to a post thence by said DOLL’s other lot N. 11
and ½ degrees W. 85 feet to place of beginning containing six
perches and a half strict measure being part of the same premises
which Wm. GUILFORD and Mary E., his wife, by deed dated A.D.
1870 did grant and confirm unto George SCHUEBEL, his heirs
and assigns and the said George SCHUEBEL and wife by their
deed dated September 16, 1871 did grant and confirm the same
unto Jacob DOLL his heirs and assigns forever as by reference to
said indentures being had will more fully appear. Together with all
and singular the buildings, improvements, ways, waters, water
courses, rights, liberties, privileges, hereditaments and appurtenances
whatsoever thereunto belonging or in anywise appertaining and the
revisions and remainders, rents, issues, and profits thereof and all the
estate, right, title, interest, property claim and demand whatsoever of
the said party of the first part in law, equity or otherwise howsoever
of in and to the same and every part thereof to have and to hold the
said two messuages tenements and lots of pieces of ground
hereditaments and premises hereby granted or mentioned and
intended so to be with the appurtenances unto the said party of the
second part their heirs and assigns to and for the only proper use and
behoof of the said party of the second part their heirs and assigns
forever subject to the payment of the mortgage recorded in Book R,
page 748 for $255 and interest in favor of Adam HOUCK and the
said party of the first part for themselves their heirs, executors and
administrators and administrators do by these presents covenant
grant and agree to and with the said party of the second part their
heirs and assigns that they the said party of the first part their heirs all
and singular the hereditaments and premises herein above described
and granted or mentioned and intended so to be with the
appurtenances unto the said party of the second part their heirs and
assigns against them the said party of the first part and their heirs and
against all and every other person or persons whomsoever lawfully
claiming or to claim the same or any part thereof shall and will
warrant and forever defend. In witness whereof the said party of the
first part have to these presents set their hands and seals dated the
day and year first above written. Signed sealed and delivered in the

Received the day of the date of the above Indenture of the above
named Reinoehl and Meily the sum of six hundred and seventy
dollars (the mortgage aforesaid being part thereof and included in
said sum lawful money of the United States being the consideration
money above mentioned in full.

On this 17th day of November A. D. 1885 before me the subscriber,
a Justice of the Peace in and for said county personally came the
above named Jacob Doll and Christina, his wife, who in due form
of law acknowledged the foregoing Indenture to be their act and
deed and desired the same to be recorded as such, she the said
Christina being of full age and by me examined separate and apart
from her said husband and the contents of the said Indenture being
first made fully known to her did of her own free will and accord sign
and seal and as her act and deed deliver the same without any
coercion or compulsion of her said husband. Witness my hand and
