ACCIDENT HAS FATAL ENDING
Joseph Stewart Dies as Result of Burns Sustained Two Weeks Ago
From terrible burns sustained two weeks ago today, Joseph S. Stewart of 1819 East Washington street, died Friday morning at 10 o'clock at the Shenango Valley hospital. He was engaged in filling the gasoline tank of his automobile when the gasoline ignited from a lantern on the running board of the machine. In the explosion, Mr. Stewart was fatally injured.
Mr. Stewart's death follows closely that of his wife who died just three months and seven days ago.
Surviving him are two daughters, Lavina and Eleanor, and one son, Clare. (sic) He leaves also his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Wilson Stewart, of this county, and the following brothers and sisters: Samuel, Wilson, George and Harry Stewart, Mrs. Reube Powell, Mrs. Orrie McConnell, Mrs. Charles Wasson and Mrs. Grace Black.
Mr. Stewart was a member of the Savannah Methodist Episcopal church and of the I. O. O. F. He was 32 years of age.
