Rev. George Rusu Sr.; Has 122 Descendants
The Rev. George Rusu, Sr., 92, a Pentecostal minister and evangelist in Youngstown, Warren and New Castle for 63 years died Friday at 9 a.m. of pneumonia at St. Elizabeth's Hospital in Youngstown, Ohio. He was born May 3, 1891, in Cuzdrivara, Romania, a son of Louis and Florence Mazi Rusu, coming to New Castle in 1907 and Youngstown in 1944. He served in the Army during World War I.
Besides his wife, Bessie Johnson Rusu, whom he married Aug. 12, 1920, he leaves seven sons and eight daughters; 57 grandchildren and 50 great- grandchildren. A son, Cornelius, died in 1925.
