Prudence PHILLIPS (FORCE or DeFORCE) RAMSEY
26 Jan 1899, New Wilmington, Lawrence Co, PA
Buried in Neshannock Cemetery
Prudence RAMSEY, one of the oldest residents of New Wilmington, died at her home there at 12:40 on Thursday Afternoon. An attack of the grip, against which the low vitality of advanced age could not successfully combat, was the cause of her death. Mrs. Ramsey was 89 years of age.
For the past 40 or 50 years she had been a resident of New Wilminton and none was more universally loved and respected than she. Her kindly ways endeared her to the younger people, many of whom made her their chosen confidante. Ten years ago or more her husband [Robert Templeton RAMSEY] proceeded her across the dark stream on whose further shores the light of immortality falls.
The surviving children are Mrs. W. H. [Eleanor] Kennedy of Sharpsberg; Mrs. Robert [Elizabeth] Eckles of New Wilmington; Mrs. Harriett Shaw of Odell, Ill; Mrs.[Mary Carolyn] Armstrong of New Wilmington; Mrs. Robert [Josephine I.] Morris of Milton Street this city [New Castle]; J. E. [John Elliott] Ramsey of New Wilmington and L.M.[Lucius Matlick] Ramsey of McDonald.
She had been almost a life long member of the Methodist Episcopal church. Funeral on Saturday at 3 o'clock,
