Mrs. Jane Kerr Offutt, for almost fifty years a resident of Leesburg died Friday, aged 79 years. She had not been ill, and death came quite unexpectedly, being due to heart trouble. She was born at Plain Grove, where she spent the early years of her life, and some years after marriage, moved to Leesburg. She was a member of the Presbyterian church of that place, and was a woman of many admirable qualities. Her marriage to Mr. Offutt took place 50 years ago, April 10. On account of her long residence, she was widely known throughout Mercer county, and enjoyed the respect and esteem of all who knew her. Surviving her are her husband and four sons, Winfield S. and Nathan, of Grove City; John C., of Leesburg, and Charles G., of Dunlap, Tenn. The funeral services were held Monday afternoon at the Leesburg Presbyterian church, and interment was made in the Leesburg cemetery.
