George McConahy, aged 67 years, a well known farmer, of Volant, R.D. 1, died at his home last night at 11:30 o'clock when complications developed after an illness.
Mr. McConahy was born in Eastbrook on August 27, 1867, the son of William and Anne Martin McConahy. He had resided in the vicinity where he died for the past 40 years. Just a short time ago he and his wife, Eva Jane Patterson McConahy, celebrated their 40th anniversary.
He was a member of the Plain Grove United Presbyterian Church. In addition to his wife, he leaves five daughters, Mrs. Mary McConell of Volant, Mrs. Martha Magee of Plaingrove, Mrs. Esther Graham of New Castle, Mrs. Anna Marett of Volant, Mrs. Rebecca Brown of Volant R.D. 1; four sons, James E. McConahy of Volant R.D.1, George M. McConahy of Volant, William A. McConahy of Plain Grove, and Thomas J. McConahy, at home; one brother, Martin McConahy of Spokane Wash., and 21 grandchildren.
Funeral services will be conducted at 2:30 p.m. eastern standard time, in the Plaingrove United Presbyterian church with the pastor, Rev. J. C. Fulton, in charge. Interment will be made in the church cemetery.
