Adassa R. Johnson, of 226 E. 11th St., Tyrone, died at 8:30 p.m. yesterday at the home of a daughter, Mrs. Dorothy Bickle, with whom she resided, after an extended illness. She was born at Decker's Point, Indiana County, on Dec. 31, 1875, a daughter of Hezekiah and Sarah (Colgan) Shankle, and on April 15, 1897, in Cherry Tree married William H. Johnson. Surviving are seven children, Mrs. Rebecca Townsend of Somerset, John E. of Warriors Mark, Mrs. Mary Jane Griffith of Tucson, Ariz., Mrs. Julia M. Sellers of Warriors Mark RD, Mrs. Frances E. Bickle of New Castle, Mrs. Helen E. Wheland of Spruce Creek RD and Mrs. Dorothy Bickle of Tyrone; 44 grandchildren and 71 great-grandchildren. She was a member of the Dungarvin Methodist Church. Friends will be received in the Johnson Funeral Home, Tyrone, from 7 to 9 p.m. today, 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. tomorrow.
