Edward L. Hetrick New Castle Native Dies Suddenly
Edward L. "Red" Hetrick, 52, well known former bus driver for the Shenango Valley Transportation Co. and a New Castle native, died in Sligo, Pa., suddenly of a heart condition on Tuesday at 3:15 p.m.after being in ill health for some time.
Born in New Castle Sept. 2, 1907, son of the late Charles and Alice Hammond Hetrick, he resided here until just a few months ago when he went to Sligo for his health. He was the husband of the former Doris Bashline of Rimersburg,Pa., who survives him. He was formerly married to the former Margaret Campbell of New Castle.
The late Mr. Hetrick was a member of the Bus Drivers Local 89, and began driving bus for the Shenango Valley Transportation Co. Feb. 1, 1943 in New Castle.
Surviving is his wife; Mrs Doris Hetrick, and children; Thomas Hetrick, New Castle, Mrs. Nancy Uhler, New Castle; Miss Jean Hetrick, New Castle; Peggy Hetrick and Rickey Hetrick at home and five grandchildren. He leaves three brothers Harry Hetrick and Perry Hetrick, both of New Castle and Carl Hetrick in Newton Falls, O.; two sisters; Mrs.Sarah Ayers and Mrs. Georganna Pander, both in New Castle, a sister, Mrs Lillian Campbell, preceded him in death.
Services have been arranged for Friday at 2 p.m. from the Hawk Funeral Home in Sligo and burial will follow the services in Churchville Cemetery near Sligo.
Friends may call at the funeral home at any time until time of services.
