Died on the 3d inst. at his residence in Wayne township, Mr. William Cunningham, in the 85th year of his age. Mr. Cunningham was one of the early pioneers of Western Pennsylvania. He married in 1795, and removed with his young and trusting wife from Fayette, to Beaver, now Lawrence county, in 1795, and underwent all the exposures, and viscitudes of life incident to early settlement in a new county. Through a long life he maintained a character for honesty, veracity, and integrity, and was beloved and esteemed by all who knew him. He raised a large family of children, whom he lived to see settle around him, as peaceable and respectable citizens. in 1802 he made a profession of religion and his walk, and conversation sustained a christian character consistent with his profession. He was a member of the Prespbyterian Church for half a century, and after sharing the joys and sorrows of this life with the bosom friend of his youth for fifty-seven years, he bid adieu to her on earth, to meet his Saviour in those mansions prepared for him eternal in the Heavens.
