Mrs. Drusilla Elder Campbell, aged 93 years, probably the oldest resident in the county, died of diseases incident to old age, at her home in Scott township Friday morning. Deceased was born in Bedford county and when but 6 months old came here with her father, the late John Elder, where she continuously redided.
She was highly esteemed and during all her long and useful life was a generous hearted lady, a conscientious christian and a good parent.
He husband, Robert Campbell, who was a prominent citizen, died in 1869. As a result of their marriage, nine children were born to them, four boys and five girls. The boys are now all dead, but the girls survive. They are Miss Flora Campbell, who resides at home, Mrs Robert McKnight of Hickory Township Mrs. Hampson Dean and Mrs Rachel Frew of New Brighton and Mrs. Alexander Newell of New Castle.
Since her girlhood, Mrs. Campbell had been a member of the Neshannock U.P. congreagation. The funeral took place Monday from the family residence in Scott township, near McCaslin postoffice, and was largely attended.
