Mrs. Sarah Ethel Anderson, aged 45 years, wife of Charles J. Anderson, passed away at the family home on Morris street, South New Castle Boro, December 28, after an illness of two weeks of flu pneumonia. Mrs. Anderson had been unable to walk for the past twenty three years, yet she was able to perform her household duties by getting around in a wheel chair. She was a faithful and consistent member of the Hoover Heights Tabernacle and was a teacher in the Sunday school. She was a woman of loving disposition and fine personality and leaves many friends in the community who will regret to learn of her death. Mrs. Anderson was born in West Fairfield township, Crawford county, Pa., October 14, 1883, a daughter of James H. McClelland and Sarah Ann McClelland. She had been a resident of New Castle for 29 years with the exception of seven years having been spent in Woodlawn. Besides her husband, she leaves two children, Ronald and Marian and one sister, Mrs. Nellie Marley and one brother, Charles McClintock.
