Adam W. Anderson, aged 78 years, of RD 6 Butler Road, died in the Jameson Memorial Hospital Friday at 4 pm after a short illness.
Mr. Anderson was born in New Castle, PA, November 18, 1875, son of Thomas and Lydia Burns Anderson. He lived here a lifetime and was a retired U. S. Steel Co. employee, having worked for 47 years. The deceased was a member of the Savannah Methodist Church.
Surviving are his wife, Mrs. Elizabeth Anderson, and three children: Carl A., E. Lester, and E. Keith Anderson, all of this city.
He also leaves his brothers and sisters: Joseph, Mrs. Sara J. Parks, Mrs. Elizabeth Pettycrew, William, Charles, Thomas, Mrs. Bessie Tebay, and Alfred, all of this city; seven grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by a son, Aaron W., in 1920 and a brother, Harrison, in 1949.
On Sunday, June 13, funeral services will be conducted in the Joseph B. Leyde Mortuary, Highland Avenue at Winter, Rev. Paul E. Aley to be in charge. Burial will be in Castle View Burial Park.
The family are receiving friends at the Leyde Mortuary anytime starting this afternoon and evening.
