Am seeking information on my gr-grandfather, SAMUEL EVANS SHURTZ. He
lived in THOMPSONTOWN, I believe. There is much information available on

Sussex County, New Jersey at around 1851 and died around 1905, perhaps
in Pgh., where he spent his later years. His occupation was variantly
listed as teacher, carpenter, upholsterer, and grocer. His parents were
DAVID and MATILDA R. MOORE SHURTZ. They are buried in the East Salem
United Methodist Church Cemetery with two of their children, SARAH E.
and JOHN W. SAMUEL AND SARAH had 10 children; 9 survived. Their third
child, JASPER SHURTZ, was my grandfather. I am particularly interested
in knowing the significance of the middle name EVANS, and gaining any
information about DAVID AND MATILDA. Thank you.

Looking for information on WILLIAM SPIGELMOYER, born ca. 1825. His son George was born in
Mifflin County in 1856, also Indiantown Gap in Dauphin County may be a lead. George moved to Logan
County, Ohio between 1871-1880, was married in Bellfontaine Ohio to Mary Delphine Thompson
in 1880. William may have been widowed, George being a son from his first marriage. In 1870 Pa. Census,
a George, 14 yrs. old, was listed as a laborer living with the Bowersox family. On his death certificate,
George's mother was listed as Elizabeth Micle. Haven't found any Micle's in Pa. census. If anyone
can offer some supporting facts surrounding this first marriage, it would be extremely helpful. Second
wife's name may have been Rachel, (not certain of maiden name) age 29 yrs. (1870 census). At this time
William was 45 years old, living in Decatur Twp. Mifflin Co. An obit on the first wife and marriage
information regarding William would be helpful.

MARK J. MCGAW was born 31 Mar 1810 in Christiana Hundred, Delaware. He married SARAH B.
MILLER in 1836 and they had 4 children: Joseph Marshall, Robert Bruce, Annie E. and George W.

Need help in finding more information on the WYBLE FAMILY. Prior to the
1830's the WYBLE's appeared to have moved in the counties. So, far this
is what I have.
In the 1830 Census for Mifflin County, Derry Twp my gggfather is listed
a John WYBLE. As he and his family are in the 1840,1850 and 1860 Census
until his death in 1864. In the 1830 Census the household members listed
were John (age 30-40), a male (age under 5) his wife (age 20-30) a
female (5-10) and a female 40-50 years old. The latter I believe may
have been either John's or Charlotte Auburn Wyble's mother living with
them at that time. She does not show up in the 1840 Census, so I presume
she died. If this is correct, then this women may help in my finding
John or Charlotts lineage.
One of Johns daughters a Sarah Wyble married into the COCHRAN FAMILY at
a time unknown. One of John's grandson's Charles Wyble married a
Gertrude Weimer in 1912. As did another one of John's grandchild George
W. WYBLE marry a CARRIE M. RHODES in March 1907 both marriages in
McVeytown. I have copies of the marriage certificates on both. However,
Carrie died and was buried in McVeytown in 1908 at the age of 17.
John's last name was spelled either WYBLE OR WIBLE. Charlottes maiden
name was AUBURN. Any information that someone can provide will be
appreciated.
