STUMP, GROVE - Juniata Co.
I recently came across a photo labeled "Stump-Grove 50th Reunion - Tuscora
Park - Aug 1st 1943". My Stump family lived in Ohio at this time and this is
the first I've heard of any GROVE's. In trying to track down this park I see
Tuscora Forest in this area. Is anyone familiar with this park or any
STUMP-GROVE connections from this part of the country?
Best Regards, Steve

PATTERSON, CLENDENIN, CALDWELL - Juniata Co.
Looking for parents of John Patterson b 1765 or 1769, bible vs tomb stone.
The most accepted is 1769, but I am open.
John, first documented in 1793 when he married Mary Clendenin in Carlisle
area of Cumberland Co., PA. First three children were born in Silver Springs
area of Cumberland Co., PA. Elizabeth, Christina, and Samuel.
Marys mother was Elizabeth Caldwell... Was Christina John's mothers name?
Then, the first son named Samuel. Was his fathers name Samuel? His fourth
son
was named James, for the fathers oldest brother? This based on naming
patterns of the time which the family later followed.
Children of Samuel Patterson who died in Fermanagh Twp, Juniata Co. which
was
then Cumberland Co., were found in Orphans Court records 1789, naming ch
James, John and Ann as ch over 14 years of age. There were also three ch
under 14, Peter, William and Mary. Their guardians were Charles Cunningham,
William Brown and John Rankin of Fermanagh Twp, then part of Cumberland Co.
Could the John mentioned in these records as son of Samuel be my John who
married Mary Clendenin in 1793?
Looking for others who may connect to any of the named children of Samuel
Patterson, James, My John?, Ann, Peter, William and Mary.
There is a Clendenin / Rankin connection later in Cumberland Co PA and don't
know how this may play in the story.

HOLLIDAY,GOFF,LOWER - Juniata Co.
I'm looking for additional information regarding ancestors and siblings of
John V. HOLLIDAY (b. Feb. 14, 1838 - d. Feb. 11, 1920). Listed here are some
of details that I have regarding his life.
- Born on Feb. 14, 1838 in Philadelphia (according to his pension papers and
military records)
- His pension papers indicate that he had been married to a Martha GOFF and
divorced before the war in Mifflintown, Juniata County, PA.
- Served with Company K & Company B of the 49th Pennsylvania Volunteers.
- Enlisted on August 18, 1861 at McVeytown, Mifflin County, PA.
- Received a gunshot wound to the right hand at Rapphannock Station, VA, on
Nov. 7, 1863 and was discharged with disability on June 17, 1864. At the
time of discharge, he indicated that he wished to be addressed at Shade Gap,
Huntingdon County, PA.
- He may have enlisted a second time on Aug. 18, 1864, in Hollidaysburg,
Blair County, PA, as a substitute for Daniel D. Wood (or Woods). The second
discharge was dated Jun. 17, 1865.
- Married Abigail LOWER Bitting Enterline on Mar. 23, 1869, in Liverpool,
Perry County, PA.
- His son Adam Wesley HOLLIDAY was born in 1874 in Liverpool Township, Perry

listed three sisters and a brother: Mrs. Mary CHENET, Mrs Ellis MCCRAY, Mrs

ATKINSON, GUYER, DIVINEY - Juniata Co.
My gg-grandmother was Lydia Atkinson 1816-1877, married to John Guyer
1804-1857. They lived in the village of East Salem in Delaware Twp,
Juniata County.
They are buried in the family plot in the graveyard next to the
United Methodist Church in East Salem. Also in that family plot is a
marker for George Atkinson 1786-1857, and next to that an indentical
marker for Julian Diviney 1801-1876.
Because of the dates on the George Atkinson marker, he could be
Lydia's father. Is he? Also, who is Julian Diviney?
Can anyone help me fill in the blanks? Darlene Guyer Corrigan

ACKER/AUCHER, STONER, BRANDT - Juniata Co.
I wish to find all details on the family of Casper Acker/Aucher. He was
born on January 30, 1760 in Hempfield Twp, Lancaster Co, Pennsylvania.

married one time. to Mary Brandt about 1786 in Lancaster County,
Pennsylvania.
Their children were:

Henry Acker born on September 23, 1790. Christian Acker born on March 6, 1792.
Anthony Acker born on June 23, 1793, died in the late 1830s in Bloom
Twp, Fairfield Co, OH. Casper Acker born est Sep 5, 1794?. David Acker born on June 21, 1796. Joseph S. Acker born on March 5, 1798. Nancy Anna Acker born on November 1, 1800. Maria Acker born on February 3, 1802. Catherine Acker born on March 17, 1804 in Lancaster County, Pennsylvania.
Casper made a will on November 10, 1813 in Cumberland County,
Pennsylvania.
Casper died on December 9, 1813 in Little Pfoutz Valley, Cumberland
County, Pennsylvania, at age 53 in what is now Juniata or Perry County,
PA. His body was interred in the Auker Cemetery after December 9, 1813
in Cumberland County, Pennsylvania which could currently be in either
Juniata or Perry Co, PA.
Anthony migrated first to Rockingham County, VA where he married his
cousin Elizabeth Sarah /Acker/. He died in Bloom Twp, Fairfield Co, OH
while migrating to Henry County, IN. Other Acker's apparently migrated
to the same counties in OH and IN while some remained in PA.
